Flamingoland 6 May 2009
Who Went:
Me, myself and I. (Well, I didn't decide I was going until Monday)
Ride Count:
Velocity x3
Kumali x3
Wild Mouse x2
Corkscrew x2
Flip Flop
Navigator
Zoo Monorail
People Moover
Daktari Express
Warning – rant! Why do parks persist in using steam outline locomotives driven by internal combustion engines. I know I am not the only one who thinks this spoils the ride experience, and generates unpleasant fumes as well. Surely such locomotives would be better converted to being battery-electric in operation, possibly with sound effects to enhance the experience.
/Rant
And if anybody is wondering, I find Kumali to be a much better ride than Infusion.
I was impressed by the amount of rides that were available for the younger riders. And quite jealous of the driving school – those are not the usual vehicles for such a ride
I enjoyed a relaxing day, spent some time wandering through the zoo and got a reasonable ride count too – oh, and collected my season pass too.
Highlights
Mumbo Jumbo seems to be progressing well.
Park very quiet, so no long queues. Front seat rides twice each on Kumali and Velocity
Flip Flop a very good ride with loads of airtime – probably even better than Maelstrom at Drayton Manor Park. (It's just a shame that I always come off feeling a little queasy)
Lowlights
Weather generally dull, with a shower at lunchtime
Park actually too quiet, meaning waiting for other at times before ride started and not a great atmosphere
Park closing at 4pm _________________ Now counting my coasters at http://www.coastercounter.com/bradpeet - which even has the snails |
