“Meet at the Park”
FUNLAND - HAYLING ISLAND
Saturday September 12th

This is a casual ‘meet at the park’ event, to help you get a coaster fix in September!
All you have to do is ‘meet at the park’ at 10.00am on Saturday 12th September.  The cost (which you pay on the day) for an unlimited ride wristband will be just £5.00 (half normal price!).  This will get you unlimited rides on all rides until 5.00pm.  Plus as a bonus, if you arrive at 10.00am you will get a backstage tour that will even include the chance to climb to the top of the ‘Drop Tower’!  Other attractions at the park include the Klondike Looping Roller Coaster, Log Flume, Break Dance, Dodgems, Crazy Golf, Arcade, etc.  Loads to give you a great day.  We’ll also have a private room for lunch where you can either bring your own or purchase from the various outlets at the park.
Funland is located on Hayling Island, right at the seafront at the end of the A3023.  Easily accessible form M3, M27 and A27.  Satnavs =  PO11 0AG
To help me get an idea of numbers, if you are interested, in attending, please e-mail me, andy@rccgb.co.uk with amount of people (non members welcome), making the subject “FUNLAND”

Apologies for that, my fault. The events on FB were in a mess with them being split accross both the proper RCCGB Group page, and the fan page.

I did a tidying up exercise last night to get everything back in order with all events now being organised on the RCCGB Group Page, and there were a few tweaks made, which seem to ping notices to people associated with the events. Things should not change now, other than various details as they become known.

But Baz is correct, be there at 09.30 for a 10:00 start.

Well I'm looking forward to coming to Funland next Saturday.  Some questions I'd like to ask:

Will we get trip badges when we show our RCCGB cards for half price wrist bands?

Will there be an ERS on say Klondike?

Will we be playing baseball in the afternoon (woodies v steelies)?

Mr Nemesis,  as this is a casual meet at the park and NOT a RCCGB trip there will not be trip badges and ERS's  Usually just ride takeovers and special deals that Nev has negotiated with park owners.  I am not sure if Nev has organised baseball he will more than likely fill you in on that!! Very Happy
Hope this answers your questions?? Laughing

Only a few days to go now. Hope the weather holds out.

For those who don't know, the Galleon has been removed and the spinning Cauldrons are now in it's place.

Hi Everyone

With regards to Saturday, please park in the car park behind the coaster (on the beach).  For FREE parking mention the Club.
As a bonus those arriving at 10.00am can either climb the drop tower or the Klondike lift hill.  Funland are striping a couple of coaster cars and Marshall Hill (Big Boss of park) will show you what they check and test.

Don't forget your membership card to get the deal.

And if the weather is good (the forecast says it will be), we'll have a baseball game on the grass field next to Funland starting at aorund 2.00pm.

Have a safe journey and see you there.

Andy

Would he be able to ride Klondike at age 4 though?  I don't know the minimum height/age for that, but I'd have thought, from riding it during the Summer Bash 2005 at Funland Hayling Island (my first ever Club trip) that the minimum age for it would be more than 4.

Well I'm looking forward to being there tomorrow.  I'm hoping to arrive before 10:00, even though that means catching an early train.  I hope the baseball goes ahead as I'd like to take part in that, preferably the Steelies team.

Better to brake that sad news sooner rather than later - at least Adam has a little recovery time before the big day.

How about you being the steelies team and playing your heart out while the rest of us are the woodies?  Very Happy

Following a peek at the Funland website, here's their thrill rides I'd like to ride.

Klondike Looping Roller Coaster the one we had the ERS on at the Summer Bash 2005 - I'll be having a few goes on that.

Tornado the one I avoided at the Summer Bash 2005 as my stomach wasn't up to it, but tomorrow I should be fine to ride that, and am really looking forward to it.  I thought I'd been on something similar somewhere else like it but evidently not as Bling (Pleasure Beach Resort Blackpool), Dragons Claw and Vortex (both Adventure Island Southend) aren't quite the same.  Definitely one to sing Hard Rock Hallelujah (Lordi - Eurovision Song Contest Winner 2006 - Finland) on.  Laughing

Wild River Log Ride You will get wet on this log flume, so I'll don my cagoule and leggings to stay dry.

Drop Ride That'll be fun, I enjoyed it at the Summer Bash 2005, and can't wait to ride it again.  Is it as tall as the Tango Ice Blast at Pleasure Beach Resort Blackpool?  It must be taller than Trauma Tower at Woodlands Devon.

See you all at Funland tomorrow.  If all goes to plan with travel, I'll be there 12 hours from now.
