I am just preparing myself for a busy night/day ahead of me.
This year, I am taking part in the 'Playtex' Moonwalk in aid of breast cancer research. It is a 26.2 mile walk around London...overnight...in my bra! I start off at 11.20PM this Saturday. Just hope I finish in time for the wedding on the 25th...and that I don't end up walk like John Wayne..from the walk that is!
More info on this can be found if you type in walkthewalk in the search bar. |

alas...great day/evening, but I had to pull out half way round to due falling quite badly ill.
The paramedic and doctor said I had drunk 'too' much water...yes...too much. As a consequence of which I diluted all the salt and nutrients in my body. Hence the crippling pains in my tummy, dizzyness and the puking session on the docs shoes. They made me drink Lucozade and diorilite to help put something back into my body.
I have felt quite poorly these last few days as my body is trying to rebuild everything...but hey ho!
It apparently can be quite common and wasn't my fault as they only offer you water on the walk. Where as if you do the London marathon, you also get given lucozade.
Really disappointed. Fitness wise I was there, and if it wasn't for that one mistake I would have made it.
I am going to take part next year...and not drink so much water! but perhaps have lucozade and diorilite on drip! |

Don't feel too bad Jackie. It's a shame you fell ill due to water of all things, but you done very well regardless. _________________ Steve
